Before the highway improvements to cover the 404 kilometers between Buenos Aires and the costal city of Mar Del Plata the journey took 10 hours.

With time, restaurants would appear along the single lane road as rest points for the travellers.

Juicy meat served with local wine marked the beginning of the holiday before reaching the coast.

Today the journey takes less than four hours, no need to stop; there is a rush to reach the destination.

Closed restaurants, billboards and semi-desert villages mark the
kilometers.
